nigeria-map-provAt the 1967 Aburi conference, General Chukwu Emeka Oumegwu Ojukwu brilliantly secured the resource control and the confederal security of the then four zones that make up the fledging nation, General Yakubu Gowon on return from Aburi reneged on the accord.

In the Nkpko Igbo pre-conference summit of April 1994, the Igbo intelligentsia created the present six geopolitical zones in Nigeria as presented to the 1995 Nigerian constitutional conference by the three wise men, Dr Alex Ekwueme,Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu and Dr Sam Onunaka Mbakwe on behalf of the Igbo nation to take care of the fears of the minority tribes as they now have their own political identities.

This was the same Aburi accord repackaged with a new label. The North ensured that the six geopolitical zone arrangement never entered into the Nigerian constitution while insisting on the status quo of North and South. The North resorted to punishing Ekwueme at the 1993 Jos convention by rallying round the South west to accuse Ekwueme of coming to the presidency with a Biafran agenda therefore scuttling the presidential ambition of the most qualified candidate,Ekwueme, in favor of Obasanjo.

The Northerners are afraid to come to a negotiation table so as to discuss a way forward for Nigeria. General T.Y. Danjuma once said that he was ready to go to war to keep Nigeria’s unity and disclosed his fears as follows, ’Many people are saying that we should convene a national conference to determine of existence. But I disagree with them, I am v scarred of a national conference .Convening a national conference for the country will be like going to court to separate a marriage. At my age, I am ready to go to war to make Nigeria one great country’’ What great country can Danjuma and his co-travellers from the North build through war with their blood stained hands.

Nigeria and their allied powers conquered Biafra through the most unconventional and cruel means to make Nigeria a great country, but Nigeria has never and will never have peace since then. Is it not the same Danjuma who boasted that he made a net profit of 500 million United States dollars profit from the oil well allocated to him by Obasanjo, oil well which the ongoing senate committee on PIB has reveal that 83% of oil well belonging to the South/ South, South /East is owned by the North.

What a blind and hypocritical argument, Is General Danjuma saying that a marriage that is not working should not be dissolved by the court? Is he saying that a brutal and violent husband who has turned his wife into a punching bag should be allowed to continue to use violence to continue to keep the woman as a perpetual slave in the name of preserving the marriage? Yes, here the marriage called Nigeria, the Northerners believe from the beginning as sold to them by the British that they are the husband married to the Southern lady of means, but why they are a coward husband, afraid to come out to talk about the injuries they are inflicting on their battered wife from day one of the marriage.

It is so unfortunate that this clarion call for a round table to discuss this failed marriage is too late now because there is no wife to dialogue with because she has been battered to stupor and cannot stand any peace negotiation. She has had enough of the battering that she now wants the court to divorce the marriage.

’THE IGBO PEOPLE OF NIGERIA HAVE MADE A MARK IN THE HISTORY OF THIS NATION.THEY LED THE FIRST SUCCESSFUL MILITARY COUP WHICH ELIMINATED THE MILITARY AND POLITICAL LEADERS OF OTHER REGIONS WHILE LETTING OFF IGBO LEADERS .THE IGBOS THEMSELVES MUST ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE A LARGE PART OF THE BLAME FOR SHATERING THE UNITY OF THIS COUNTRY .HAVING SAID THAT , THIS NATION MUST REALIZE THAT IGBOS HAVE MORE THAN PAID FOR THEIR FOOLISHNESS.THEY HAVE BEEN DEFEATED IN WAR,RENDERED PAUPERS BY MONETERY POLICY FIAT.THEIR PROPERIES DECLAQRED ABANDONED AND CONFISCATED, KEPT OUT OF STRATEGIC PUBLIC SECTOR APPOINTMENTS AND DEPRIVED OF PUBLIC SERVICES THE REST OF THE COUNTRY FORCED THEM TO REMAIN IN NIGERIA AND HAS CONTINUED TO DENY THEM EQUITY.THE NORTHERN BOURGEOISIE WITH THEIR YORUBA COUNTERPARTS HAVE CONSPIRED TO SCHEME OUT THE IGBOS FROM THE NATIONAL CAKE’’.

ALHAJI SANUSI, A NORTHERN POLITICAL ELDER so for how long will the slavery continue? For how long will the Igbo people remain in bondage and servitude to the Nigerians for forcing the Igbo to remain in Nigeria with daily massacre against their will and denying them their citizen rights as accorded the indigenous people from other tribes.

The Nigerian government has actually rejected the Igbos and turned them into modern slaves , therefore the Igbos are justified in the eyes of international law as stipulated in the United Nations charter on the rights of indigenous peoples to their self-determination.

This why Bilie Human Rights Initiative, representing the indigenous people of Biafra in a suit for self-determination of Biafra, make a clarion call to all Biafra’s, home and abroad to bring the original Igbo spirit that made Ndigbo survive a 30 months gruesome war of survival in supporting Bilie in this struggle for the benefit of a United State of Biafra. The next hearing comes up at the federal high court, Port Harcourt road Owerri from 8am on the 25th of June 2013.
