We the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership and command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu condemn the Nigeria Military’s attack on peaceful IPOB members holding a candlelight service for the remembrance of Biafra Heroes and Heroines at Emene Enugu State on the night of 29th of May, 2023.
Globally, Biafrans gathered in various continents on the 29th night and 30th of May, 2023, to honour our fallen heroes and heroines without harassment but it was only in the zoo called Nigeria that our people were attacked, abducted and killed.
Nigeria Combined Military team attacked the peaceful Biafrans holding a candlelight service and offering prayers for the fallen Biafran heroes and heroines at Emene Enugu State on the 29th of May, 2023. The Biafrans were peaceful and praying when the gathering was invaded by overzealous Nigeria military. The military shot some of the participants dead and whisked others away, maybe to harvest their organs for sale and racketeering. We want the Nigeria government and her security agencies to tell us when it has become a crime to remember and honour the dead?
We are reminding the new Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mba, to shine his eyes so that the Nigeria government, through his political enemies, will not turn the peaceful state of Enugu into a theatre of crisis. If he allows the enemies to use him against IPOB, then we will make Enugu State tough for him to govern. He must ask those compromised Security Agents to release the abducted Biafrans or take them to court if they have committed a crime. More so, they should release the corpses of those they murdered to the families for burial. We shall no longer tolerate the senseless wasting of our lives as if we are ants. Those who kill by sword shall be killed by sword.
Remembering and honouring dead relatives, particularly heroes, is a norm globally. In America, the UK, Israel, Germany, and even Nigeria, heroes are remembered and honoured. Why does the Nigeria government get upset anytime Biafrans want to remember our own heroes? Nigeria is a terrorist nation that removed history from schools’ curriculum so that the Biafra genocide will be forgotten.
But IPOB refuses to forget our history, particularly the genocide committed against our people between 1967 and 1970. In fact, when Biafra is fully restored, the history of Biafra genocide will be taught from primary school to university. Generations of Biafra will know their history and avenge where necessary. You can’t beat a child and tell him not to cry. No amount of profiling, hatred, abductions, and extrajudicial executions will stop us from remembering and honouring our heroes or the coming of Biafra.
Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mba, you must stand up now and never allow yourself to be used against IPOB. Those who made IPOB their enemies faced the consequences. IPOB is the people, and the people are IPOB. We remain peaceful and ready to support any responsible governor who openly or covertly shares in our vision and is ready to work for our people, not work for the Sokoto Caliphate and Abuja terrorist government.
