Talented Frenchman Adrian Mannarino stayed alive during this lung-busting rally against Juan Monaco at Indian Wells and finished things off in style.

Having claimed the first set Mannarino pushed Argentine Monaco on his service game in the 11th game of the second set.

And having created a break point opportunity, the world No 61 took his opportunity by staying alive during a long rally before unleashing a lethal forehand winner.

The 28-year-old lost the set in a tie-break, but rallied in the third to win the match 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 and set up a second-round encounter with Roberto Bautista Agut.
