The son of the heartless beast called Gen. Murtala ‘ s son is under pressure to join Kano gubernatorial race 2015

The eldest son of the former Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Muhammad, Alhaji Abba Risqua, yesterday revealed that he was under intense pressure to vie for the gubernatorial seat in 2015.

Addressing press at a dinner organized to honour him at Tahir Guest Palace Hotel, Kano the eldest son of late Head of state, explains that, the pressure is coming from political associate, family members and wellwishers across the state.

“I am under a lot of pressure from friends and other well wishers to come and accomplish something for the development of the state. Something that has, for a long time been the tradition of our family. It is part of our family value to see to the development of our society,” the soft spoken Risqua stated.

He added that looking at the sacrifices his family made it therefore showed that he should have no other option than to come up and make his contribution towards the development of the people.

However,the Kano born politician disclosed that he was still making consultations as to the invitations from people for an informed decision.

Risqua said he will formally address the good people of Kano in due course and harged electorates to always make sure that they have good choices in electing their representatives at all levels of public office.

A couple of months back, a group of well wishers organized a rally urging him to come and contest for the gubernatorial race. Though the group declined any link with him, but recent development has shown that he may accept their offer.

Although, It was still not very clear as to under which platform Risqua would vie for the office of the governor, but a reliable source close to him pointed that he might contest under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was once in the race for the Federal House of Representatives in 2007 general election. But finally backed out due to certain circumstances which he saw as not being comfortable with his political activities.
