Question: Before the fall-out with Ohanaeze, did you ever try to have a meeting with them? I mean have you ever discuss with them, letting them know about the benefits of what you stand for?

Answer: Yes, I did. I discussed it with them. When I came out from Kuje Prison, I went to Chief Nnia Nwodo’s house to see him. I had a meeting with him. I had telephone conversations with him. It did not just stop there. The same plan that we have, I also intimated the Governors as well. It is not just Ohanaeze that I sat down with to discuss all of these issues with, I also sat down with the Governors and I told them everything.

I explained the details and acknowledged the difficulties in them coming out in the open to support what we are doing. I said to them, do what you are doing and we do what we are doing. I gave them example of how the Yorubas managed to get the Presidency. I told them we must bring pressure to them (Nigeria). If you keep begging and pleading from today till eternity it won’t happen.

I discussed with Nnia Nwodo personally. I personally had a one-on-one conversation with him and I told him what we are going to do. I have never shared this in public before.

The Governors asked me to give them a list of the things I wanted from Nigeria Government. I said again to them, tell Buhari…,

1. You must open Calabar Seaport.
2. You must open Igweocha Seaport.
3. You must open Warri Seaport.
(Why must I import only through Lagos when the same Seaport flows through Igweocha Seaport, through Warri Seaport, through Calabar Seaport, the same lane the ship will take to South Africa, going to Angola and Gabon is the same Atlantic Ocean. Why must it stop in Lagos?)
4. The Seaport in Onitsha must be dredged.
5. I told them to build another Seaport in Lokoja, not because they are Biafrans but to also serve those who are in that area.

I outlined all my demand and asked them to take it to Abuja. Do you know what they did?

After going all my request, Osinbajo invited them for a meeting in Aso Rock. Nnia Nwodo didn’t tell IPOB about that Meeting. They went with the CV of their children to get good jobs for them. That list I gave to them for Abuja, which I said to them; tell them all the Industries that were closed down, all the Industries that Michael Okpara built, all those that Sam Mbakwe built, we must get them revived, so that People can be gainfully employed.

I asked Ohanaeze and the Governors, who stole the Money that former President Jonathan gave for the construction of Igweocha Highway to Enugu? Where is the money meant for Onitsha to Enugu Expressway? Who stole that very money? Because former President Jonathan awarded those contracts twice?

Then I discovered that they have eaten the money. Those who are in Ohanaeze are those who participated in eating the money. Now, shame could not allow them to take this very request to Abuja and argue it because they will ask them how come? We have paid you money for these roads on two occasions? We have given you money for Igweocha to Enugu, Onitsha to Enugu, why are you coming back again? Why not go back and tell your Children that you looted the money?

That very day I was with them at Government House, they brought bag of Euros in white sac bags and they said to me, “Please call off this Election Boycott. They said Sen. Ekweremadu is upstairs, do I want them to call him in? I looked at the offer and I said “No, I don’t need this. Go to Abuja and submit my List and when it is done, we can have a jamboree together.”

That was the day they saw that we are unbribeable and unmovable. They decided to go to Abuja and plan how to kill us. They told Buratai to come and kill us and that was the Genesis of Operation Python Dance that raided my home and took the lives of thousands of IPOB men and women.
