Annika Sorenstam has predictably top-loaded her singles order as Europe look to pull off a historic comeback on the final day of the 15th Solheim Cup.
The visitors need to put a sea of blue on the leaderboard in the early stages after the holders won three of Saturday’s afternoon fourballs to open up a five-point lead which leaves them needing just three-and-a-half points to retain the trophy.
The European captain will send out Anna Nordqvist in the opening match as her fellow Swede looks to make it four wins out of four at Des Moines, although Team USA skipper Juli Inkster has counted the move by placing world No 2 Lexi Thompson at the top of her order.
Impressive English rookie Georgia Hall goes out second and takes on a resurgent Paula Creamer, with Mel Reid facing the new all-time record points scorer for the Americans, Cristie Kerr, in an intriguing third match.
There were fears midway through day two that Charley Hull would be unable to compete in the singles after sitting out both of Saturday’s sessions to protect the wrist injury she aggravated on day one, but Sorenstam and the English ace herself dismissed the rumours shortly afterwards.
Hull will play Brittany Lang in the eighth match out, while European rookies Florentyna Parker, Madelene Sagstrom and Emily Pedersen are in the final three slots as they look to win their first points of the competition.
The tee times have been brought forward by around two hours due to the threat of thunderstorms later in the day, and the Nordqvist v Thompson clash will now tee off at 3:31pm (BST).
