From OKEY SAMPSON, Aba
Armed robbers on Monday invaded a Catholic Church in Aba, Abia Stat and made away with the car of the parish priest and other valuables at gun point.
It was gathered that at about 12.45am, the armed robbers, who came in their numbers, invaded the Tansi Catholic Church located at the World Bank Housing Es- tate (WBHE), Abayi, Aba.
On gaining entry into the church, the robbers were said to have made straight for the parsonage, where they snatched a black Honda Ac- cord car with registration no. LND 47 AC belonging to the parish priest, Revd. Fr. Eme- ka Okoro.
Also stolen from the priest were two laptops, one ipad, handsets, documents, cash and other valuables.
The robbers reportedly packed all they stole from the parsonage into the priest’s car and drove off unchallenged.
Abia Police Command Public Rrelations Officer (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comments, but a senior po- lice officer, who confirmed the incident, said police had mounted a manhunt for the fleeing robbers.
