THE Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State

has said over 300 natives were killed by terrorists in the communities within the area.

Its chairman, Reverend Fadan Amana, told Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State, in a letter made available to journalists, that they had suffered series of death in the hands of the gunmen.

“We have suffered gruesome massacre as members of the Christian community in Sanga. CAN, Sanga council chapter, wishes to passionately appeal that, as a matter of urgency, you kindly use your good offices to arrest this ugly development, by ending these terrible attacks on our peace-loving and defenceless people.

“A careful consideration of the attacks that have been launched on various communities in Sanga from June 23 to the most recent one, which occurred on September 16 and 17, has clearly revealed that these attacks were carefully planned and carried out by some Islamic fundamentalists mainly on Christians within the local government.

“Over 300 Christians have been wasted through these attacks. Our children, women, including pregnant ones and the aged, our clergymen, churches, pastors’ residence and our property have been the sole and main targets of these attacks.

“We must clearly state that this sad, ugly and unprovoked attacks have over-stretched the patience of the Christian community in Sanga council to engage us in religious war, which is not in our nature and tradition as Christians,” the letter read.
