The Buhari-led government of Nigeria is said to be dismayed following IPOB’s pronouncement for a sit-at-home in honour of the Biafran heroes who died both during the war and after since the inception of its regime. It could be recalled that when same event took place in protest of Kanu’s detention, Nigeria’s economy suffered a great decline in revenue generation just in one day and the thought of encountering same and the positive impact it will have on the Biafra restoration quest is a great cause for worry.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, before his arrest said “we are Biafrans and not Nigerians, we are ready to restore the kingdom of God upon the earth”. This is not 1967-70 where we held on and fought a war of attrition with barely nothing; we are wiser now and will do everything to ensure the Zoo (Nigeria) falls.” Most people did not understand the point he was trying to make when these assertions were made. Some thought that he had gathered weapons to wage war against Nigeria, forgetting that he said all he needed to destroy the British empire is TRUTH only.

After his arrest in October 2015, the game began to change, the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB staged massive street protests that shook Nigeria and drew international attention. The Biafra question like the Scottish became a topic of discourse in every quarters, including the E.U parliament and house of commons, despite every attempt of Britain and the Buhari-led government of Nigeria to squash it.

Series of protest took place in Diaspora, Biafraland and Nigeria. Millions of Biafrans flooded the streets of Biafra, from Bayelsa, Rivers, Abia, Anambra, Imo, Delta, Calabar, Enugu to other parts of Biafraland; protesting the illegal detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the restoration of Biafra.

When the protest started, some gullible fellows said that the protesters were hungry jobless youths, while other unscrupulous element like Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo called IPOB miscreant, until it later dawned on him that the so called ‘miscreants’ are beginning to gain massive support internationally, prompting him to deceptively assume advocate for Igbo presidency in 2019; a gimmick that Biafrans have refused to fall for.

As the wave of protest and rally continued with great intensification, Nigerian economy began to noise dive in quick succession to a point of recession, a stage alien to Nigerian economist as it is a first of its kind since the amalgamation of the fraudulent contraption by the British, under the leadership of the same Hausa-Fulani they gave charge to rule in perpetuity.

May 30th, 2017, sit-at-home event will serve a multiple purpose as it will equally signal to the world that we love and respect those who died for our sake. This day although solely set aside in honour of Biafra fallen heroes will also aid in our quest to restore that for which they died (Biafra), it will also affect the economy of Nigeria as there would be a decline in revenue generation, considering that Nigeria depends on Biafra and her resources to survive. At the end of it all, we would have succeeded in killing three birds with a stone.

Biafrans are encouraged to participate in this solemn event. We are not only going to honour our heroes, but also ensure they get justice for having their lives cut short simply because they asked to be free from slavery, marginalization and intended annihilation and the only way to do just that is by restoring Biafra; sit-at-home is one of the means and we are advised to utilize this great opportunity as every little sacrifice counts.

The international community is fully aware of our resolve to break away from this bondage called Nigeria and are eagerly waiting to see how serious we are to do just that; 30th May sit-at-home is another great opportunity to do just that.  We must utilize this opportunity very well by locking up our shops, offices, market places, schools etc and stay indoors.

Our heroes died so that we may live and for this reason, we must remember and honour them!
