ONITSHA—Worried by the alleged capture of some communities in the northern part of the country by Islamic religious sect, Boko Haram, the traditional regent of Mbosi in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Okey–Joe Onuakalusi, yesterday warned that no part of the nation’s land should be ceded to the insurgents.
Sounding the note of warning, Onuakalusi recalled that the sect, which had since been declared a terror organization because of the havoc it wreaked on innocent people of the country, was now talking of taking over some parts of northern Nigeria as its own territory.
. His words:   “The sovereignty of the Nigerian Nation can neither be negotiated with a terrorist group that has no regard for sanctity of human life nor entrust to rascals who neither have respect nor regard for life.
“Nobody should expect a compromise of an inch of the territorial integrity of the nation.”
Blaming Muslim leaders and their politicians for not playing their role as respected faithful, the regent said: “Sadly, let us examine this unfortunate scenario in three different fronts, firstly it is an indictment on the leadership and ideological failure in the Muslim world especially in Nigeria.
“Often times we are being told that Islam is a religion of peace, but a group of the same adherent takes gun without any provocation, to kill and slaughter their prospective converts in the name of the same religion and their leaders turn blind eyes and remain indifferent in the face of cruelty.”
He recalled that the Catholic Pontiff, His Holiness, Pope Francis 1, recently apologized to the entire world for the abuses carried out by Catholic priests, adding
