Civil disobedience simply defined, is rightful expression by mass opposition against government policy or acts inimical to the well-being of the people. It is a methodology in which forced change is advocated through the influence of public opinion. This particular civil exercise has a long history of popular resistance against tyranny and anti-people’s policies. It It is symbolic of the people’s resisting voice against bad policies of government.

Refusal to participate in an electoral process is a perfect example of civil disobedience. Through such an action, the global community is duly informed of the people’s discontent against a particular system, constitution or government. This approach is exactly what the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is adopting to popularly drive it’s point even to the awareness of international watchers. IPOB leadership in it’s wisdom and intelligence, is strategically telling the world that Biafrans are no longer interested in Nigeria and anything she represents and so must be allowed to exit. The Buhari led federal government has no option under civilized law, not to allow Biafrans to conduct a referendum to clearly determine their future as clearly stipulated in the United Nations’ charter authorising self-determination for discontent indigenous peoples anywhere in the world.

Civil disobedience is harmlessly non-violent and happens to be the best civilized approach to freedom by concerned citizens, in their quest for local, national or global attention. There exists two influential personalities that employed the instrumentality of civil disobedience to trigger off the needed change in their time. These were Mahatma Gandhi of India and Martin Luther King of the United States of America. They wholesomely revolutionalised their societies for the much needed change of their people by leading peaceful mass movements in their time. The courageous leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in modern history, has mandatorily emerged and got enlisted amongst world’s very influential figures to liberate his people from the shackles of slavery and misery. Civil disobedience often emerges in a society bedevilled with injustice, tyranny and oppression. It is the people’s vehement tool of resistance against all shades of evil, thereby orchestrating unprecedented actions of demand for freedom and justice.

The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, has in unmistakable terms, scheduled Biafra referendum for Saturday 16th February 2019, same day the Nigerian government plans to conduct it’s presidential election. This will defiantly serve as definitive action of popular resistance against Nigerian government’s refusal for civilized and mutual settlement. This upcoming non-violent exercise will be completely carried out with “Election Boycott” and a “Sit-At-Home” by genuine Biafrans as ordered by the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This is a project that must be duly complied with as international election observers will equally be on ground to simultaneously give their assessment. Nigeria is a country where lawlessness, crime and criminality are not only invented and institutionalized but also proudly treasured. Biafrans have the liberty to openly and freely conduct referendum as obtained in civilised societies but not so in Nigeria. The IPOB leadership in it’s wisdom wants to avoid incidences of killings of it’s members by the Nigerian murderous military and allied forces.

It is also noteworthy to let the global community come to terms with the fact that Biafrans are totally no longer part of Nigeria neither will they participate in any Nigerian organized election. They will persistently carry on with strategic civil disobediences as deemed necessary until justice is not only served but seen so to be. Be part of this epoch making exercise by observing a “Sit-At-Home” on Saturday 16th February 2019. Extricate yourself from decades of marginalisation, impoverishment, oppression, intimidation, humiliation, mental and political slavery, by being part of this very unique exercise, BIAFRA REFERENDUM.

Boycott Nigeria Elections!
