In the annals of Africa and the world in entirety, Biafrans are known for their hospitality and peaceful disposition. They are well known for their warm and exceptional friendship that transcends borders, gender, social strata, political and religious affiliations. This is exemplified by the plethora of colonial activists hosted during that ugly era.

The global community was shocked on Thursday 9th 2021, viewing the empty streets in Owerri, Imo State, Biafraland as Biafrans deserted them in potent Sit-At-Home Protest. It was another big lesson for President Muhammadu Buhari and all compromised Igbo leaders who engage in brinkmanship, politics of personal and parochial interests over the collective, communal and people-oriented interests.

It was a day to remember, another historical day to tell the whole world and especially Nigerians, that Biafrans are fed up with this contrapted slavish entity called Nigeria. It was indeed, a day of definitive statement of unity of purpose, full of the display of who really, the actual leaders is. It settled with utmost finality, the abuse of Igbo traditional red cap and the allotment of monopoly of wisdom. It was a resounding indication that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is the people and the people are IPOB. And since Mazi Nnamdi Kanu leads the IPOB, it had proven the clear choice of the leader that the indigenous people actually needed.

If Muhammadu Buhari or a rational/attentive close confidant, should ask himself tough and hard questions, retrace his steps, work on himself for the selfless service to the people, they would be definitely no reason for all these evolving developments. Since Buhari and the local political merchants have worked in concert against the people, the joke is on them now to as a matter of urgency, humbly tow the path of honour by subscribing to the overwhelming wish of the masses. This they should do, by first honouring the demand for a referendum. True democracy depends on it.

The presidential visit to Imo State was both a big shame to the visitor, his host and all their cronies. Buhari should know that Biafrans do not welcome him and as for the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, his unpopularity and unacceptability is gone far beyond description. Presidential visit in Alaigbo is always a big celebration, graced with funfair and dances from different groups of women and men, well dressed in their colourful attires.

A gathering of a burial of a day-old child in Alaigbo, was far better recognized than what happened in Owerri, Imo State, in the name of a presidential visit. The whole of Biafraland has shown Buhari that his killing spree and orgy of violence being visited on Biafrans right from the genocidal war between 1967 and 1970 till date, will ultimately have a reckoning day. He will not be allowed to mock the memory of the dead, never! Why should Buhari be welcomed when he is still holding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader and other Biafrans in different prisons in Nigeria? Biafrans stand stoutly united even in the face of threats of death and daunting challenges!
