It is commonly being proverbially re-echoed that “A fool at forty, is definitely a fool forever”. It is over one hundred years now and yet counting, that the entire Biafran race was forcefully encaged in a grossly unholy union called Nigeria by the British colonial adventurists. This unworkable marriage over the years, automatically gave the British, the leeway into Biafraland to actualize their selfish economic interests via the evil policy of “divide and rule”. This agenda, the colonialists successfully foisted on the people through their Fulani slave puppets. It all subtly started through the introduction of worship centers, schools and hospitals. Ironically however, these colonialists failed to toe same line of action down North. Biafrans then never knew that the intent of these strangers was shrouded in deception and egocentricism. The then blindfolded front-line Biafran political leaders exemplified in Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, represented the Biafran people in that deceit of a negotiation.
Eversince then till date, Biafrans have remained cajoled, accepting the evil system and playing the second fiddles at different points in a dysfunctional one-Nigeria arrangement. This despicable role which is being played more than other races within the Nigerian contraption, spans over years without any appreciable advantage. Nigeria was founded on treachery, lies and deception and these form the singular reason behind the steady annihilative drive instituted against the Biafran race as being implemented till date. This was what initially triggered off the genocidal war between 1967 and 1970. After cessation of hostilities, a policy of brainwashing of Biafrans ensued. Brothers and sisters of same ancestry were divided and made to hate/fight one another, denying themselves of their ancestral essence as one people. Such intrigues gave rise to what is disappointedly and shamefully called “Niger Delta” today, a creation by strangers that alienated and pitched brethren against themselves.
By the time some of the Biafran heroes/fathers like Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu finally emerged to understand the full import of this divisive agenda and decided to seek the way forward as one indivisible entity, the damage had already been done. Biafrans had far journeyed into gross mental enslavement thereby becoming surrogates of destabilization to well mapped out strategies of Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu across the Biafraland. Since after that his botched attempt of liberation, situations have over the years, grown worse for successive Biafran generations.
The colossal and unbearable spate of injustices and oppressions being meted out against Biafrans by the Nigerian state within these enstranged territories, it is no gainsaying the fact that now is the time for all to join forces and get extricated from this cage of slavery, despondency and death. A lot is being done in the present time by the oppressors to keep Biafrans down, wallowing in the falsehood and folly of one-Nigeria. Some others yet stay glued to the slave name of Niger Delta, which is totally meaningless. In the light of the foregoing therefore, can it then be convincingly said that “A fool at forty is realistically a fool forever?”. Definitely, forty good years of enslavement and death can never be a sane testimony. God forbids!
The awesome emergence of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is a miracle packaged and delivered full dose by divinity to the Biafran people. Those who have been illuminated by the light, definitely cannot hold back the truth. The uninformed, misinformed and the deformed, have to hear the authentic gospel of Biafra, the opposing obstacles nonetheless. Our brethren need be helped and delivered by the truth, from lies and deception.
Delta State in all it’s entirety, is indisputably an integral part of Biafra and Biafrans therein should not be allowed to drift any further into calamitous experimentation with the Nigerian vampiric rulers. This is the time for all to synergize, unanimously and courageously march forward to reclaim their Biafran identity and heritage. The earlier this fight is jointly and frontally waged against these Fulani janjaweeds from the Sahel, the much better for all. Nigeria is totally an unworkable entity by all standards. Obafemi Awolowo rightly gave a comparison with the amalgamation of the diverse indigenous people groups that were forced into one-Nigeria, as “oil and water” that can never mix together.
Let the sleeping giants in the entirety of Biafraland awake. Let all shades of stubbornness and self-conceitedness be taken away. Biafrans should stoutly make this axiom their watchword: “United we stand but divided we fall”. No room of conquest should be allowed the enemies anymore, for with courage, unity and commitment, all mountains and opposition must have to be brought down in victory.
