Nyako and Kanu

It was not lost on any Biafran that when Binta Nyako, the ill-trained Nigerian judge accepted handling Nnamdi Kanu’s case, that she was operating between the devil and the deep-blue sea. Kanu is the Biafran leader who heads the strong and global Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and directs Radio Biafra and Biafra Television.

Nigerian ruler, Muhammadu Buhari had always wanted to put him behind bars by all means, since he (Kanu) exposed his (Buhari’s) pedophilic atrocities. He was not happy that Kanu equally exposed his sponsorship of Boko Haram, the bloodthirsty terrorist group operating in West Africa, but with roots in Northern Nigeria. Buhari wanted to put him behind bars in spite of the fact that the Biafran leader had committed no offence.

Many Biafrans who spoke on the matter were not under any illusions. They were aware that Buhari was blackmailing Nyako whose husband, Murtala Nyako, a former governor of Adamawa State had stolen the state dry. The man and their son have been under trial by Goodluck Jonathan’s government until Buhari came into power and quenched it. It was common knowledge among Biafrans that he was blackmailing the woman that if she failed to deliver on Kanu, her husband and son would be jailed. That was the motivation for Binta Nyako taking the assignment.

However, as at that Monday, March 20, she had seen the foolishness and hopelessness of the case on the part of Buhari and his government, and related same to the maximum ruler. But the maximum ruler and his Fulani “hegemonists” would hear none of it.

That was why she threw the stupid nonsense about trying the case in secret under Sharia Law. In addition, she felt that would rejuvenate the volcano in the Biafran leader, as was the case the last time uttered the nonsense. But the Biafrans were ready for her, and gave her the cold treatment.

With the declaration made, she is expecting that Biafrans will ask her to step down from the case as was done with injustice John Tsoho. Again the Biafrans are determined to disappoint her.

Meanwhile, the situation somehow sits well with Nigerian maximum ruler Buhari. Everyone he has met had told him how stupid the charges were, and how hopeless the case would be for him. So anything that would delay the case, even one day more is alright by him.

This was a case which the charges and the charge sheets have been changed more than twice. Each time a court throws out their trumped up charges, they have written another one and taken it to another court. Now the Nigerian courts have become such a joke, courtesy of Buhari.

Nnamdi Kanu must be free!
