Atiku-AbubakarAn aide of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has warned the political  adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak, to weigh and guard  his utterances especially as they affect senior citizens of Nigeria.
The warning came from Danladi DanAsabe, an associate of Mr. Abubakar,  and Chairman of Adamawa Think Tank group, in a statement sent to  PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday.
Mr. DanAsabe said he was responding to comments reportedly made by  Mr. Gulak recently over the Hausa Service of the BBC in which he  disparaged Mr. Atiku for defecting to the All Progressives Congress,  APC.
“The comments of Barrister Ahmed Ali Gulak were uncouth,  disrespectful and demeaning of the office he is occupying presently. The  job of a political adviser is far different from that of an attack dog,  and I hope he knows this,” Mr. DanAsabe said.
The politician also advised Mr. Gulak, who is also from Adamawa like  the former vice president, to know that “there is life after office.”
He added that the culture and norms of northerners places greater emphasis on respect for the elders.
Mr. DanAsabe advised Mr. Gulak to use his office to try and reconcile  aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party members, but “not to continue to fan  the embers of discord for personal gains.”
