ANOTHER TRAGEDY AT THE LADIPO MARKET

No fewer than 50 shops were destroyed by fire on Wednesday at Ladipo Automobile Market, Mushin, Lagos.

The fire which started in the early hours of Wednesday at about 3 am, gutted large parts of the market and goods worth several millions of naira was destroyed and over 50 shops razed, traders blamed the disaster on power surge that emanated from Osoro Junction of the market where mostly Ibo speaking Biafran deals on Brand New Automobile Parts, traders explained that the fire started few minutes after a High-tension power cable supplying electricity to the community malfunctioned and reportedly fell on the roof of the stores.

Mr Nkire Ezeigbo, Public Relations Officer at Ladipo Auto Dealers Association, said the fire started at about 3.30 a.m. from the Osoro/Akinwumi area of the market.
Mr Felix Okoro, Chairman of the Osoro section of the market confirmed wednesday morning that no casualty was recorded but goods worth millions of naira was destroyed.
Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasak Fadipe, said his men had responded
promptly, to an emergency call and immediately arrived to the scene adding that the fire was completely put out at around 10 a.m.

The incident temporarily slowed down business activities in the affected section of the market. There’s been a series of problems facing the ladipo market since last year
after the demolition by the Lagos State Government without any compensation to the affected traders who planned to sue the state government attracted serious criticism from the Ibo speaking Biafrans who run their businesses there ,few months later there was another demolition of a section called bakassi market without any notice

Last month the central Sabon Gari market and series of other main Markets in the Northern part of Nigeria where mostly Ibo Biafrans are said to be running their  businesses in the north was razed by an enormous fire outbreak and goods worth millions of naira was reportedly lost in the fire affecting mainly the Ibo biafrans, this is clearly a systematic economic war on our people and must be attented to in due time.

WHO COULD BE BEHIND ALL THIS…???
