Felipe Aguilar maintained his two-shot advantage at the Lyoness Open, as David Horsey surged up the leaderboard.

Aguilar mixed four birdies with two bogeys to post a two-under 70 at Diamond Country Club and keep him two clear of nearest challenger Graeme Storm.

Oliver Fisher carded a second successive 69 to move into third place on six under alongside Jonas Carlsson, with Horsey part of the group a further shot back following a course record-equalling 64.

Beginning on the back nine, Aguilar bounced back from a blemish at the 11th to post successive gains from the 15th and reach the turn in 35.

The Chilean drained a 20-foot birdie at the fourth and briefly went four ahead with a gain from half the distance at the eighth, only to bogey his final hole.

“It was very difficult and unfortunately I finished with a bogey, but overall it was a pretty good round,” Aguilar said. “You are going to make some mistakes today but you just have to make sure you make some birdies as well.

“There is still a long way to go and I just want to put myself in contention and then we will see what happens on the weekend.”

Carlsson made a late charge up the leaderboard by posting two birdies and an eagle in a five-hole stretch along the back nine, although remains three off the pace after a final-hole bogey.

Home favourite Bernd Wiesberger closed his second-round 69 with back-to-back birdies to move within four of the lead, joining Horsey, Zander Lombard and Sepp Straka on five under.

Trevor Fisher Jnr threatened the outright lead and moved within one Aguilar after five birdies in his first seven holes, but lost ground with a blemish at the 17th and double-bogey at the third.
