Nnewi—Second Republic Senator, Chief Nathaniel Anah, SAN, has called on those advocating for Nigeria to divide to emulate the people of Scotland who voted to remain in United Kingdom, saying that it is the will of God that Nigeria will be a big country being together.

Speaking to Vanguard, the 86-year-old former senator, said Nigerians should not be in a hurry to dissolve the unity of Nigeria, “so let us work together to work out how best the unity of the country will be guaranteed, division cannot help us, unity is our strength.”

Senator Anah said Nigerians should not because of the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents be calling for the division of the country, saying “they are misguided Northern youths who do not have the blessing of the Northern elders and youth in their activities. I have no doubt on my mind that the issue of Boko Haram will be resolved by prayers of Nigerians because prayers have started to storm the gates of heaven and we should not be discouraged in any way or discontinue our prayers, Nigerians should not relent in their prayers.

On the choice of President Jonathan by his party as the sole candidate for the forthcoming presidential election, Chief Anah said “The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has spoken my mind by adopting President Goodluck Jonathan as it consensus candidate for the 2015 Presidential election, considering all the circumstances of his administration, Dr Jonathan by all standards has performed creditably well to deserve another term.”
