The Nigerian Political Leaders Want To Be Served And Not To Serve

Israelmore Ayivor clearly stated “If the problems you have this year are the same problems you had last year, then you are not a leader. You are rather a problem on your own that must be solved”. The above statement quite describes the kind of people that have taken over the leadership positions in the Nigerian Parliament.

They are a bunch of reprobates, complete misfits and nitwits who have subtly managed to crawl into power but have absolutely nothing to offer besides looting, pillaging, destroying and killing. They yet have the temerity to blame the corresponding consequences of their actions on the poor and grossly over-burdened masses whose lives are packed full of misery. The system is disgustingly flawed and can best be described as “Parliament of Vultures”.

In the words of Myles Monroe, the famous American preacher of blessed memory, once said that: “Leadership is the ability to help others to discover their own abilities and take responsibility for their abilities”. A leader who wants to be served rather than to serve, is never a leader but a criminalized looter.

This position stems from the fact that those that are currently at the Nigerian corridors of power that are being referred to as leaders, are nothing but celebrated looters. They neither have people-oriented mission nor vision and yet always shamelessly subscribe to apportioning blames on those they surreptitiously claim to be leading, for their grave incompetence.

One Daily Post Headlines at the early hours of Thursday 12th November 2020, raised a very serious concern about the firm functionality of the brain of a typical blackman. Such a publication triggered off great shock on the realization of how deeply and disappointingly nauseating the system has actually degenerated.

The words of Plato, that famous Athenian philosopher during the classical period of Ancient Greece many, many years ago, quickly came into play. Plato had succinctly warned: “If you do not vote reasonable people into power, you will be governed by Idiots”. This is exactly the kind of experience that is prevalent as a matter of fact in Nigeria today as “Idiots” have invaded and taken over power.

The Daily Post News as published on Thursday 12th November 2020, as earlier referenced, had as it’s headline, “Suspected Hoodlums Burn Down A Section Of LGA Headquarters in Abia, Government Orders Arrest”. The release had it that “Government’s attention has been drawn to the unfortunate burning down of parts of Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Headquarters Building in the early hours of this morning by unknown arsonists”.

“It is pertinent to state here that Government does not wish to expend public funds in rebuilding burnt down facilities so as to serve as a stark reminder to those behind the arson, of their folly”. The Abia State Government added, “Let it be clearly stated that the intention of the arsonists was to hinder or stop today’s PDP LGA Chairmanship primary. They failed abysmally as the primary will go ahead as scheduled. Government will not give in to the antics of destructive elements”.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Government wishes to state that no other development will be carried out in the affected LGA until the structure is restored. It therefore becomes the responsibility of all citizens particularly those of Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area, to cooperate with law enforcement agents in their efforts to unravel the identity of those behind the unfortunate act”.

In the above abstract, the so-called PDP led administration is saying that it will never take part in fixing back any damaged structure by the “Suspected Hoodlums” and at the same time, charging the masses to own up to the responsibility of mending the damaged structure and on the other hand, it is conveniently proceeding with the elections in the State. Is this not entirely ironic, imbecilic and laughable?

Drawing conclusions from this development therefore, it is noteworthy to point out here that the real culprits of the ongoing heinous crimes are pointedly the same crop of “Idiots” at the corridors of power, masquerading as leaders. They are the ones detailing their political thugs to destroy government structures and then still turn around to attribute such acts to have been orchestrated by the innocent masses.

This is the norm adopted particularly within the Eastern part of the country. It is the embedded act of criminality targeted against the Igbos otherwise known as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to have them exterminated. It is just like giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it.
