The Emergence Of Atiku/Obi: A Misplaced Optimism And Hope

There is a perceived howbeit false hope, optimism and rising expectation that has become prevalent across the length and breadth of Nigeria since the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the subsequent selection of the former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi as his running mate. The euphoria is based on the fact that perhaps here comes the duo that will finally fix and/or rescue Nigeria from the present visionless and clueless government championed by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari who is generally believed to be a dictator and Iron Man.

The truth is that those who are celebrating this expected change of baton from one Fulani man to another, will discover sadly how myopic, misinformed and deluded they were sooner than later. The Fulanis as we know them, are not ready to compromise or abandon their age-long agenda of conquest and domination, any time soon. Fulanis don’t deny or betray their own like other tribes. They don’t abandon their own easily. They have proved without any iota of doubt and shown times without number they are dubiously united in their quest to subdue and subvert every genuine effort to restructure Nigeria. Because of this, their malicious unity and oneness neither Buhari, the incumbent president nor Atiku, his prime challenger, have at any time, made any strong statement condemning the atrocities committed against other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria by the herdsmen. I stand to be corrected here.

Both Buhari and Atiku, view Nigeria as a conquered and terrorized estate of their forefather Othman Dan Fodio, whose legacy and ideology of supremacy, suppression and domination they have both sworn to uphold.

Both Buhari and Atiku are grand patrons of the murderous, rampaging, bloodthirsty herdsmen; ironically, none have made any genuine effort towards curbing the killings or muster courage to resign as patron of this world 4th most deadly terrorist group that have murdered, razed down villages, sacked the people of their host communities and occupied their villages.

Both Buhari and Atiku are now shouting hoax, deceiving some gullible Nigerians on how they will restructure Nigeria, share the national cake equitably, respect the constitution, ensure that the rule of law is observed, including the independence of the judiciary and the enforcement of human rights, etc. We have been deceived before with these rhetorics from Buhari who immediately after coming to power changed the equation and brought in the infamous 97% and 5% theories. His bigotry, abuse of power, selective fight against corruption, nepotism, ethno-religious politics, mediocrity and utter disdain for the independence of the judiciary is unprecedented anywhere in the world. Nigerians have been through this road before – Most people echoing “Anything but Jonathan” except for some who saw the handwriting on the wall.

As determined and steadfast freedom fighters desirous for their total emancipation, liberty, and anything regarding freedom, we canvass for total boycott and abstinence from all upcoming political processes in Nigeria until all Biafra activists held on various Nigerian detention facilities are released and a referendum organized to determine our future in Nigeria.
