Nigeria’s greatest woe since the unfortunate amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorate in 1914 by Mr Luggard is her inability to understand and deal with the nature of an average Biafran: social skills, religious views, political inclinations and moral values.
It is evident that despite the Nigerian media blackmail led by Channels Television and Punch Newspapers to paint Biafrans as a disunited people and Biafra a disunited nation, the 30th May Sit-At-Home exercise has emerged as a one-event-too-many for the Nigerian government to sustain the “Biafra disunity” propaganda.
Provoked at the Sit-At-Home event observed by Biafrans (in remembrance of Biafrans that have been killed between 1945 till May 2017 by the Nigerian forces), the Northern despots, unable to contain their emotions, on Tuesday June 6, 2017, fell to IPOB’s (Indigenous People Of Biafra) bait and issued a quit notice on Biafrans to vacate their region before October 1, 2017, or face violent reactions from their unemployed and poverty-stricken youths (whom the United Nations are trying hard to rescue out of malnutrition, starvation and consequently, death).

To this end, IPOB applauded the notice and urged all Biafrans to vacate the region; knowing also that such moves will hasten the disintegration of Nigeria and the restoration of Biafra. Biafran leaders, Afenifere, prominent Biafran politicians and various public transport companies owned by Biafrans have also joined efforts to ensure the mass exodus of Biafrans from the Northern region.
As the exodus began in just three (3) days after the Arewa Youths/Elders’s threat, the North turned around again to seek for peace; this time, organized by the former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha with ‘Alhaji’ Ralph Uwazuruike, expelled leader of the ‘Sell-Out’ Movement of the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) as the Biafran representative.
In the meeting, Hamza, undermining the Northern Elders’ involvement in the issued threat, accused that “other countries that are keen to distabilize Nigeria sponsored the Northern Youths towards making such proclamations.”

Laughable as it might be, Alhaji Uwazuruike deserves an award for his continued pranks over Nigeria. Despite not being able to dissuade his clan in Imo State against Biafra agitation, Nigeria still dissipates energy over him; seeking to make the ‘ousted thief’ a mediator between Biafra and Nigeria.
I reiterate, the problem with Nigeria is her inability to understand and deal with the nature of Biafrans. History should have taught Nigeria that even if all the greedy governors in Biafra should sign a peace agreement with the Nigerian government, so long as the pure water seller at Onitsha, the shoe maker at Aba, the fisher man at Ijaw and the student in Calabar still buys to the Nnamdi Kanu’s idea, the agitation for Biafra cannot be foiled.
In Biafra, the common man is majority and the leaders are minority. Britain stands a better ground to tell the bitter story of their encounter with the republican Biafrans. Till Nigeria learns from such history, characters like Alhaji Ralph Uwazuruike will continue to fiddle with them (the Nigerian government).
