The peace summit titled: “Let’s Reason Together,” being facilitated by Ndigbo International Prayer Organisation, NIPO, in conjunction with Ogirishi Foundation and Association of Igbo Youths, AIYO, will hold on June 27.

President of NIPO, Bishop Chinedu J. Okeke, who said this yesterday in a press statement, explained that the purpose of the peace summit is to build a bridge of partnership among the politicians, the youths, professionals, the clergy and citizens of Ndigbo home and in the Diaspora.

According to Bishop Okeke; “The summit billed for Rojenny Sports Stadium, Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, is also to teach the enhancement of positive human development aimed at eliminating social vices such as cultism, kidnapping, armed robbery and human trafficking that are prevalent in Igbo land.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of Tricycle Owners and Operators in Nigeria, under the auspices of AOWAN and ATOODAS/ KNOOWAAS Union of Nigeria, Dr. Jimmy Okonkwo, is expected to preside over the occasion, while a prominent Igbo leader and Ogirishi Igbo, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has been tipped as the father of the day.

According to the organizers; “The summit is further to reawaken our mind set in reminiscence of our progressive and fundamental value system anchored on education, culture, brotherhood and national development as obtainable among Ndigbo as in the 50s and 60s.”
