POPULAR preacher, Sheikh Muideen Bello, has described unity as the only factor that can ensure the survival of Nigeria as an entity, particularly beyond 2015.
Sheikh Bello, who was part of Oyo State contingent to the 2014 holy pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, stated this on Thursday in Ibadan, in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, upon his arrival in Nigeria.
He said Nigerians must learn to accommodate one another if they must coexist peacefully.
The cleric, who urged Nigerians to take a leaf from the virtues of unity, accommodation and respect exhibited by millions of pilgrims from around the world who participated in the just concluded Hajj, said the existence of peace and absence of mutual suspicion were sine qua non for growth and development, especially the success of 2015 general election.
He prayed for the return of peace in all parts of the country and a successful political transition through the next general election.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Bello advised fellow hajjis to stick to the lessons of Hajj and stay away from acts capable of robbing them of the bountiful rewards from Allah for the spiritual exercise.
