THE apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, will on September 29, take a stand on its support for President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election.
Anambra State president of Ohanaeze, Dr. Chris Eluomunoh, said at a news conference in Awka yesterday that the organization would also use the occasion

as Igbo day, adding that all the Ohanaeze branches in Nigeria and in Diaspora would attend the rally in Awka.
According to him, President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, would attend the event expected to take place at the famous Alex Ekwueme Square in the Anambra State capital. Also to attend, he said, are the five South East governors and their Rivers and Delta states counterparts where there are Igbo speaking people.
Eluomunoh, who is the chairman of the organizing committee of the event said that Ohanaeze would also use the occasion to review the future of Igbos in the Nigeria project and discuss the journey so far in the 100 years of the amalgamation in the country.
He said that since it would be the only event that will bring all Igbo-speaking people together before the 2015 general elections, other far-reaching decisions would also be taken and urged all Igbos to be part of it.
