No fewer than four persons have been killed and several others wounded in a political crisis that engulfed Daddere town in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to an eyewitness account, the clash occurred following the conflict between those supporting the state lawmaker, Sidi Bako and that of the state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura over the impeachment notice served on the governor in which Bako, who hails from the area, signed the impeachment notice against his kinsman, the governor.
The lawmaker, who, together with his colleagues, left for Abuja on July 14, returned home last Monday for legislative duties at the Assembly complex, where he was received by his supporters with a grand reception.
It was gathered that the reception did not go down well with the supporters of the governor, who also took to the streets to register their disappointment with Bako for signing the impeachment notice against Governor Al-Makura.
Daily Sun further gathered that the situation later resulted to a clash between the two groups, which led to the death of four persons, while several others sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the state police commissioner and other security chiefs have visited Daddere to see things for themselves.
