Obinofia Ndiuno community, in Ezeagu local government area of Enugu State, has cried out to all tiers of government to come to its rescue, as it has been cut off by erosion.
Our correspondent, who visited the community, reports that the Nkwo Ezeagu-Obinofia Ndiuno road linking Obinofia Ndiagu road has been washed away by erosion, even as ditches have split the road, making it unmotorable.
The community, in their emergency town general meeting, therefore pleaded with both the state and federal governments to come to its urgent attention by embarking on recovery of the road through asphalt and drainage construction.
President-General of Obinofia Ndiuno Town Union, Chief Chukwudi Ezinwa, congratulated the Ezeagu local council, the state and the federal governments on their interests in the community but pleaded with them that the erosion menace is now an embarrassment to the community.
Ezinwa particularly expressed appreciation to the House of Representative member representing Ezeagu/Udi federal constituency, Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, for facilitating the ongoing construction of road projects in Ezeagu local council by the federal government.
The meeting passed a vote of confidence on Ozomgbachi and prayed for his continued stay in office. The meeting urged all its indigenes to protect electrical installations in the community and ensure that vegetation obstructing electrical cables is cleared.
Ezinwa urged the community members to pay their dues so as to facilitate community projects mapped out by the union.
