The Concerned Igbo Leaders of Thought on Monday said that the proposed national conference represented a vehicle for genuine transformation of Nigeria.
The CILT, which is led by constitutional lawyer, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, stated this in Enugu, through its strategy committee.
Deputy Secretary of the CILT, Rev. Elliot Ukoh, spoke for the group.
Elliot said the national conference couldn’t have come at a more auspicious time other than now that the nation was at the crossroads.
“We plead with President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that this national conference truly rebuilds this country and it will be a wonderful legacy if he does,” said Ukoh.
He added, “We assure the President that even though Igbo leaders of thought are not praise singers, we will identify with him when the time comes because we have watched him seriously and we have come to the conclusion that he is sincere, committed and dedicated in his avowed commitment in growing this country into a nation that will make Blackman proud.”
