Fresh from his alleged abduction and severe torture, a chieftain of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Arinze Igbani, has accused members of the Association of Igbo Youths Organisation (AIYO) of abducting him and shaving his beards for ritual purposes.
Igbani, who is MASSOB’s Regional Administrator for Onitsha Region 4, narrated his ordeal: “1 was on top of a commercial motorcycle, penultimate Saturday along the city biscuit Road,
near Old Motor Car Spare Parts Market, Ugwuagba Layout, Obosi by APAMS Limited, Funeral Undertakers, when the Igbo youths abducted me and took me to unknown destination.”
He said that he was just returning from an orthopaedic hospital where he had gone to dress his fractured limb injury inflicted on him in November, last year, by a team of soldiers from Onitsha Army barracks.
“My abductors, who were a group of four boys in a private car, double-cross and dragged me down from the motorcycle and started beating me mercilessly before taking me to their nearby office,” he said.
