Somebody is either telling A BIG LIE or SOMETHING STRANGE is happening with regard to the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria.

While the over 4 million people of the state are looking forward to the election expected to hold late this year, a power broker has indicated that he and President Goodluck Jonathan have already decided on who should take over from Governor Peter Obi, who completes his second four-year term in March next year.

Speaking while endorsing the candidature of oil magnate Ifeanyi Obi, popular contractor and chieftain of Nigeria’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Arthur Eze, said: “Whoever I said that would be Governor will be Governor because the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has assured me that whoever I anoint to be Governor will be Governor of Anambra State.”

Prince Eze’s claim made on Sunday (May 5) in his hometown Ukpo during the Ninth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Awka held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, has yet to be denied or contradicted by President Jonathan, four days after.

It is not yet clear on what party platform Dr. Ubah of Capital Oil and Gas would pursue his governorship ambition but indications are that he may be considering PDP following the reluctance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the ruling party in the state, to give him the ticket.
