Endless Northern Nigerians’ Crime: Man arrested for selling wife for N800, 000

Plateau State Police Command has paraded 31 suspects including a man who had sold his wife to ritual killers for N800, 000 in his bid to get rich quick.
Others were suspected car snatchers, receivers of stolen vehicles, cattle rustlers and armed robbers. Also arrested were persons suspected of committing culpable homicides, attempted culpable homicides, and criminal conspiracy as well as cow rustlers.
State Police commissioner, Nasiru Oki who paraded revealed that one Maimako  Shephang of Kwalla village in Shendam local government area of the state had in August this year, at about 3.00pm  lured his wife who was identified as Agnes  to the bush and on getting there, handed over  her to two masked men.
After her husband had left, the men asked her if she was a spinster or not. The lady informed them that she was married and that it was her husband that handed her to them. She was then told to run away from the place because the spiritual sacrifice they intended to carry out requires a virgin.
The police later arrested her husband and an intermediary between him and the  ritual killers. Upon interrogation the man confessed having received N400, 000 and was awaiting the balance.
A farmer, Bilyaminu Musa of Angwa Hausawa in Gindiri , Mangu Local government area was also arrested for chopping off the hand of one Bala Musa who  he alleged has been stealing from his farm and destroying his crops.
Another man, Hwok Markus a resident of RiyominRiyom local governmnet area had tried killing his father Markus Jok, by giving him matchet cuts on his head and neck for allegedly accusing him of being a wizard and two other persons, Bala Musa and Sunday Andrew also confessed of using witcchcraft to kill one Ijah Awasak. Bala further disclosed that he had killed his sister Blessing, the same way in 2012.
Among those paraded were three persons Yahaya Mohammad, Paul Idoko Mathew, and Emmanuel Garba Oko an  who were arrested in connection with vehicles stolen in Jos and Kano with one of them, a Toyota Corolla sold  to one unspected member of the public  from Benue for N700 000.The vehicle was discovered in his possession. A discharged army colonial, o Oladimeji Ikotun was also arrested in connection with a camry toyota discovered with the alleged vehicle snatchers.
