Igbo LeadersEZU RIVER KILLINGS; SHAME ON IGBO LEADERS

There is no other part of the Zoo (Nigeria) where the kind of shocking discovery at Ezu River in Anambra state would happen and the country remains the same

again. More than 100 able bodied men in their prime and who are presumably Igbos were mowed down and bundled into a River for more than six months now and there is no disquiet and emotive agitation by the leaders and key actors in Igboland. Where is Ohanaeze Ndigbo? Where are Igbos and their opinion leaders?

Yes, it is a national calamity, but at least Igbo leaders are expected to spear head the enquiry to ascertain the identity to these men and who killed them. If they were killed by SARS Awkuzu acting on the orders of Peter Obi as Radio Biafra has been alleging then nobody should expect them (SARS) or Anambra Police Command or Peter Obi to easily own up to the massacre unless a superior agitation by the owners and leaders of the place (Igbo leaders) is put in place.

We know what happened in the Apo Six saga in Abuja. Must the life of the Igbos continue to be demeaned by the Nigerian state as it has been since 1966? What are Igbos themselves doing to halt this valuelessness attached to their lives by evil forces in Nigeria. It is when one values his or lher life that others will follow suit. If Igbos feel that their lives are worthless and can easily be abused, then why would vandals and blood suckers licensed by the Nigerian state not follow suit.

The senate set up a committee to look into the killings. The Presidency even made ephemeral comments as it had been making on the BOKO HARAM tragedy, but it is the Igbos themselves who can create the necessary wave that will unearth the identity of the bodies and who killed them.

If nothing tangible comes out of this terrible incident, then that will be the beginning of worst massacres to be visited on innocent Igbo young men by depredating forces who hide under federal security machinery to unleash their venom and ethnic cleansing on the Igbos.

Igbos and their leaders must never rest on the oars until those who killed the young men are identified and prosecuted. There is a secret AGENDA to eliminate BIAFRAN activists since they have succeeded in neutralising MASSOB by compromising the leadership. Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Trade Unions, Students, Human Rights groups and Churches must intervene in this matter urgently and impress upon Peter Obi and the Inspector General of Police to release the autopsy results carried out on the bodies of the victims.
