Obj Kasamu

Kasamu Replies Obasanjo: You are Goliath, and I am David.

In a swift reaction to Olusegun Obasanjo letter to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman on his withdrawal from the party activities due to the presence of Mr. Buruji Kashamu as the leader of the party, the accused have issued a statement calling Obasanjo a blackmailer. In a statement issued Saturday, he detailed how the former President made him donate huge sum of money to his church and other projects. Recalling their once romantic relationship, he stated that he use to enter Obasanjo bedroom. He revealed that he helped Obasanjo to fight Gbenga Daniel and even used his structure to give the party to him when he lost grip of the party. He noted that the ex Army general is only crying because he has lost relevance in the party.“Ordinarily, I would not have responded to his latest cocktail of lies having sufficiently addressed the same issue in my response to his letter to the President only a few weeks ago. However, since he has shown that he is too embittered to be assuaged by that response, I am constrained to do another.“First, it is now clear to all and sundry that why I have become the target of Obasanjo’s wicked campaign of calumny and blackmail is his perceived loss of political relevance in Ogun State and the South West.“In his 18-page satanic letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, I was the other person – indeed the only one (after the President) – that he singled out for his venomous attack. But if the truth be told, I am not the architect of whatever political woes that he is suffering today. Like David, I am just a tool in the hands of the almighty Allah Subhana wa tala. I am too small to confront a Goliath like him but for the almighty Allah who is the supporter of the suppressed and oppressed.“In his usual hypocritical manner, he talked about not being able to work with me because of his principles and decency. But the questions Nigerians should ask him are: where were these principles when he used me to fight Gbenga Daniel? Where was his self-righteousness when I took the party structure from Daniel and handed it to Obasanjo? Where was his decency when he brought Gen. Adetunji Olurin to me and asked that I should roll my structure behind his governorship ambition? Where was his morality when he introduced me to South West PDP leaders like Engr. Segun Oni, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade (Rtd) and a host of others?“Where was his discipline when he hosted me severally in his Hilltop mansion, taking me into his bedroom and innermost recesses? Where was his decency when he accepted donations from me to his church and other concerns?  Where was his gumption when he mounted the rostrum to sing my praises, praying for me as he did in May 2010 during a reception for the former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye? I can go on and on!

I’ve no presidential, VP ambition – Akpabio

NIGERIAN TRIBUNE – Contrary to allegations in some quarters that the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio is nursing an ambition to become president or vice-president of the country in 2015, the state government has stated that there was no iota of truth in the allegations, describing them as an “invidious campaign of calumny and blackmail.”In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the state government said the smear campaign, which had been on in the print, electronic and social media as well as internet and bulk SMS, was part of a conspiracy to misrepresent Akpabio and thereby cause tension in the polity.“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state in clear and unambiguous terms that Governor Godswill Akpabio is not interested in, and is not nursing any presidential or vice-presidential ambition,” the statement said, adding that Akpabio had been known as “The Promise Keeper” because he was known to always keep his words and he had expressed it several times that he had no presidential or vice-presidential ambition. The statement called on the president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan; his wife, Patience; the Governors’ Forum; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Nigerians to “discountenance the evil conspiracy and campaign of lies and falsehood.”

National conference shouldn’t be for ethnic groups – Musa.

Ahead of the national dialogue proposed by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Second Republic Governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, has said the conference should be for Nigerians and not for ethnic nationalities. In an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, Musa, who has been a proponent for national dialogue, said contrary to the opinion of some groups, Nigeria is made up of citizens and not ethnic nationalities. He said, “What we have to accept as a fact is that the vast majority of Nigerians, in spite of the negative state of the nation, want Nigeria to remain united. They do not want the disintegration of Nigeria; they don’t even want confederation. We want a united Nigeria and power should be shared in a way that encourages unity and development.“Some people are saying the national conference should be a conference of ethnic nationalities. They believe Nigeria is made up of ethnic nationalities, but that is wrong. Nigeria is not made up of ethnic nationalities. It is made up of citizens.”On the controversy over the existence of a minority report on the national conference, Musa said any report outside the report submitted to the President by the Femi Okurounmu-led committee, was irrelevant.“The report of anybody now is irrelevant because the only report, which is relevant, is the report of the presidential committee. The committee was mandated to recommend a modality for conducting the national conference. So far, Nigerians are not interested in what the committee says but they are interested in what the President says, because it is the President’s committee,” he said.Musa said from his evaluation, the plan for the national conference was still on course and should be allowed to play out to completion.Reacting to the plan by the Ethnic Nationalities Movement and The Patriots, to convoke a conference on ethnic nationalities to foreshadow the national conference, Musa said in line with the tenets of democracy, it was necessary to allow all groups make their inputs. He said, “We must respect fundamental human rights. The minority, who want the

Ezuma baby factory

Dr James Ezuma Imo State Baby’s Factory Billionaire Ring-Leader Exposed.

•Deception… The signboard contravened what happened in the ‘home’James Ezuma, a medical doctor nabbed by the police in Owerri, Imo State, for operating baby factories, is the face of child trafficking in Nigeria •Ezuma: Serial polygamist with his third wife.•Ezuma: Serial polygamist with his third wife. The glassy signpost with blue, white and black lettering promises would-be visitors succour. Its delicate frame announces to the public the presence of a private hospital. Near this board is another with less aesthetic appeal on a lonely street off Egbu Road, in Owerri metropolis, which announces to the vulnerable, a place of refuge. The wordings on this board, strong enough to comfort even the most disheartened, have been revealed as a decoy to perpetrate evil. The place is “Ezuma Women and Children Rights Protection Initiative… FG Approved NGO Homeless Babies Home,” which, until last month, was the epicentre of child trafficking, with a baby production regime, as if in an industrial factory, in full swing. At the peak of his career, Dr. James Ezuma, who claims to have studied at the University of Jos, was the poster child of successful medical practice. His vast empire, including real estate, posh automobiles and women, advertised him as a man who attained success through dedicated commitment to his profession. His physical wealth was complemented by a long list of clientele and friends in political and business circles. This probably explains why, with impunity, he could operate his purported hospital and Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, in a building for which proper building permit was never obtained. Yet, he was there for many years without the concerned officials raising eyebrows. For the sheer size of his wealth, the undiscerning public held him in awe.The church bestowed a knighthood on him for his commitment to charity! This was before the police flashed their detective klieg lights on his activities. What they saw however, negates the very essence of the medical guild. In Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State where Ezuma operated from before he was declared wanted, the 65-year-old drew respect and fear in nearly equal proportions. His five-storey ‘hospital and charity home’ on 101 Okigwe Road, Aba, was frequented by high-heeled guests and ‘patients’ who visited mostly at night in sleek automobiles. Their purpose: to purchase a child. The cost of land in the eternally busy Okigwe Road is estimated at N10 million per plot. Sources say the magnificent edifice may have been erected on over five plots of land. Neighbours and passers-by who dared prey into his activities in this fortress suffered losses as a result. A former associate of his told this magazine that any medical practitioner, who challenged his reptilian practices, suffered either physical harm or had his clinic shut down. His network of friends, some believed to be in privileged positions of government, ensured that he never suffered harassments. And when he did, they made escape routes available to him. Competent sources in the police force say he had been detained by the police but on such occasions, he was let off the hook. The building which has been demolished by the Abia State government following its owner’s arrest in Owerri, was a den where innocent children were herded as raw material for his baby production factory. Here, Ezuma, working in tandem with his network of collaborators, brought girls, some pregnant, claiming to help provide anti- and post-natal services to them. Thereafter, the impostor claimed he offered them humanitarian services such as rehabilitating the teenage girls, while offering the children out on adoption. The inside of his so-called hospital before it was pulled down, fared even less than a dispensary.•The signboard of the ‘hospital’

North responsible for Jonathan’s failure – Alamieyeseigha

Diepreye Peter Solomon AlamieyeseighaNATIONAL MIRROR – Former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, yesterday warned that the failure of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan would amount to the failure of the North. Alamieyeseigha made this declaration on Friday in Abuja during the award given to the chairman of HMG Oil and Gas, Alhaji Hamza Mohammed by Arewa Youth ForumAccording to the former governor who was the chairman of the occasion, Jonathan was surrounded by northerners placed in strategic positions, hence the failure of the present administration should be blamed on the northerners in office. His words: “If you look at the structure of this country, those that have made it happen, those in the driver’s seat, President Goodluck Jonathan is only one person. One out of so many around him; and quickly, the next person to him is the vice president. He is from the North. The third person is the Senate President; he is also from the North. The head of the judiciary is also from the North. The Inspector- General of Police is also from the North. The Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, the Comptroller- General, Customs, the National Security Adviser, Comptroller-General, Immigration, CBN Governor, INEC Chairman, EFCC Chairman. I can keep counting. Tell me, which office is left? They are all from the North. So, if this government fails, the north has failed. Not only Goodluck Jonathan from a small state called Bayelsa State.” Alamieyeseigha also blamed the economic misfortune of the nation on former leaders of the northern part of the country, whom he said had failed to develop their region despite the privilege to do so. He said: “As a child, I am 61, so I have a fair knowledge of this country.I went to Defence Academy; I also have fair knowledge of the North. Most of their leaders, I am directing it to the Northerners. All their houses are in Kaduna, Abuja, Lagos. Go to their villages, they don’t even have houses in their villages, but they have parents left behind, no water, no electricity. Because they are enjoying urbanisation, they have forgotten where they come from. “Leadership has been with some of them. If they have used the resources of this country in developing our rural areas, we won’t be talking about this level of poverty in our remote areas.”While describing the awardee who was honoured with “Medal of Fellow of Northern Youths” as young promising leader, detribalised and an embodiment of professional qualities, he expressed optimism that there was hope for Nigeria should her youths be groomed to overcome her present challenges.Alamieyeseigha also scolded opposition parties for welcoming members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP. “These are some of the persons that are talking, making nonsense of themselves. They are saying that PDP is bad. It is not a party that people should belong to. But the opposition, when PDP members defect to their so called opposition party, they celebrate.

The latest letter is not, as many may have expected, to the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan, but to the chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to which he belongs, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. According to reliable sources, in the one-page letter written on Thursday, a copy of which was sent to the president, Obasanjo declared that he would, temporarily, cease to be a member of the party or participate in any political activities at any level. His decision, he said, is hinged on what he described as the handing over of the authority of the party, in the South-West, and particularly, his home state, Ogun, to the chairman of the South West PDP Mobilisation and Organisation Committee, Buruji Kashamu. Declaring Kashamu as unfit for any leadership post in the party, he described him as a drug baron who has cases to answer in the United States of America. The sources said the former president said with such a person as Kashamu in the leadership position of the party, he had no choice but to opt out pending when the anomaly, among others, is corrected. To buttress his point, the sources said, Obasanjo attached some documents to prove his claim that Kashamu is indeed a drug baron. It would be recalled that the “season of letters” was opened recently by Obasanjo, in a missive to Jonathan. In the letter which blew the frosty relationship between him and Jonathan into the open, Obasanjo accused the president of ineptitude, promoting corruption and pursuing agenda that could destroy the country. The 18-page letter is titled “Before it is too late” and dated December 2, 2013.In the letter, Obasanjo also lamented that Jonathan had become terribly divisive and clannish, destroying his own party, polarising the country along regional and religious lines and ridiculing Nigeria in the comity of nations. He also blamed Jonathan for the crises tearing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, apart., noting that apart from using party chairman, Bamanga Tukur, to cause multiple crises and divide the ranks of the party, the president’s failure to keep a promise he made not to seek a second term is also generating tension within the ruling party.

National Confab: Igbo Leaders Reply Okunrounmu Over Nwabueze Attack

The Igbo Leaders of Thought, an organisation of Igbo leaders, has berated the Chairman of the now rested Presidential Advisory Committee on the proposed National Dialogue, Senator Femi Okunrounmu, over his media attacks on legal luminary and leader of the group, Prof. Ben Nwabueze (SAN).In a statement issued in Awka, Anambra State capital on Friday, the group said Okunrounmu’s “vituperation on Nwabueze was uncalled for”.The statement was signed by Mr. Elliot Uko, the Deputy Secretary of the Igbo Leaders of Thought.Okunrounmu had at a press briefing held at his private residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Wednesday, referred to Nwabueze as “Mr. Know It All” while reacting to the position of the Igbo Leaders of Thought on the proposed national dialogue, stating that Nwabueze would always try to discredit a project or policy that he is not put in charge of.The statement said, “Calling Nwabueze “Mr. Know it All” and alleging that the eminent constitutional lawyer disparages ‘anything he is not in charge of’ is a very weak attempt to divert public attention from the grave issues Igbo Leaders of Thought, led by our great leader, Nwabueze, raised.“Neither the Igbo Leaders of Thought nor Nwabueze raised any issues with the person of our respected Senator Okunrounmu.“What we said is that the report of PAC falls short of the expeditions of Nigerians who desire a genuine national conference of ethnic nationalities.”The statement reiterated the position of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, which called for the creation of a new peoples’ constitution as against the purported recommendation of the committee that the existing one should be amended; the inclusion of all ethnic nationalities at the conference; and that the findings and conclusions of the conference should not be passed to the National Assembly for approval but rather should be subjected to a referendum. It also said, “The National Assembly should pass an enabling law to legalise the National Conference as inherent powers of the President has been successfully challenged in several courts in the past”.

Ta’awun Public Relations (B’Haram) Recognises Biafra, Warns BIAFRA MAY INVADE YORUBA LAND IF CARE IS NOT TAKEN

As no one knows what the future holds for this country due to its current situation and our failure to learn from history will surely put us in a great danger if care is not taken and those that will suffer most are Muslims because according to counts, Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Oyo and Ondo are having the highest population of Muslims in South West. Before now, the Biafrans have been agitating for sovereign State of Biafra base on certain document signed into law at the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914 which indicates that the country was created as an experiment meant to last for hundreds years and break up if the people are not compatible. They have called on United State of America to separate the region before blood will start flowing on Nigeria soil.During the Biafra war, it was learnt that Biafra 12th battalion headed by Lt. Col Victor Adebukunola Banjo captured Benin and set out to capture Ibadan and Lagos likewise 13 battalion led by Ivenso entered Kwara, now Kogi and captured Okene, Atanai and Iloshi. We must also remembered that they attempted to enter Yorubaland through Ore after capturing Eastern minorities before they were stopped in their tracks by the gallant efforts and courageous fighting skills of the Third Marine Commando (which was primarily a Yoruba force}.All this was then, when they have not acquired skills and gain more support from international body. But now who knows how sophisticated they are and what they are capable of. Forewarned is forearmed.

165 Boko Haram terrorists get pardon

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, ordered the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) to release over 165 suspected Boko Haram members in its custody. A statement issued to the media in Abuja, by the DHQ, through its Director of Defence Information (DDI), Major General Chris Olukolade, said that the detainees would regain their freedom in compliance with the presidential directive. The suspected persons were among those apprehended in the course of military operations on terror in three states in the North-East areas of the country. The suspects, according to the DHQ, were those earlier recommended for release by the Joint Investigation Team, (JIT) set up by
