A former Senator representing Ebonyi North, Anthony Agbo, yesterday urged the federal government to enter into deeper security collaboration with the United States and Israel to win the war against insurgency in the north.
He spoke in Abakaliki with reporters.
Agbo said such pact will enable security agencies to gain access to intelligence and infrastructure of these countries for a more effective fight against the insurgents.
According to him: “Prayer is the spiritual side of it but on the practical and diplomatic side, I would want the government to enter into this security and diplomatic pact with these countries.
“I believe that this is what we need at the time because our security personnel as good as they are trying cannot contain with the complicated terrorist situation.
“This is because we don’t have adequate training for the military, police and other security networks.”
