Biafra: Court Orders Immediate Release Of Bright Chimezie, Slams N5m Compensation The State Security Services (SSS)

ABUJA–The Federal High Court No 1 Uyo, in Akwa Ibom State, presided over by Hon. justice Ijeoma Ojukwu delivered judgement in a fundamental Right Suite filed on behalf of Bright Chimezie against the Gestapo outfit, the State Security Services.

The lawyer representing Bright Chimezie in this case is Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor. Following his argument before the honourable court during the previous session, justice Ojukwu moved his substantive application to this morning and his extensive argument on law.

The judge ordered the State Security Service to release Bright Chimezie immediately; the court also held illegal, unconstitutional and a gross violation of Bright Chimezie’s constitutional guaranteed rights to freedom of liberty, dignity of human person, presumption of innocence and freedom of movement, his arrest since the 14th of October, 2016 and continued detention till date.

The judge consequently ordered the State Security Services to pay the sum of 5million to Bright Chimezie as compensation for gross violation of his fundamental human rights.

Barr. Ejiofor speaking to BIAFRA WRITERS after the court session on the possibility of the gestapo outfit flouting the court order as it is their norm, he assured that they will definitely comply with the court ruling and he is intensively following up with them in order to ensure that the order is obeyed to the latter. He further reassured that from this day to next week, Bright Chimezie would be out of the DSS dungeon.
