The security report that surfaced from Anambra State on Monday 2nd December 2019, is to say the least, most disturbing and disappointing. Erudite lawyer and the lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Barrister Ifeanyichukwu Ejiofor, was murderously attacked in his village house at Ifite-Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State in Biafraland, through criminal invasion by a combined team Nigeria security forces (Police and Army).
Recall that Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor recently lost his elder brother, Reverend Chukwukpelum Ejiofor, whose burial was conducted on Thursday 27th November 2019. Eversince then, the bereaved family has been in mourning mood, receiving friends, well-wishers, loved ones and associates from all works of life, who thronged the family compound to commiserate with them.
The report has it confirmed that in that callous raid by the security forces, at least four IPOB family members were killed, with several others sustaining varying degrees of gunshot injuries. Houses in the neighborhood including that of the Barrister and his late brother, were totally razed down. This is an act of wickedness by government agencies that are supposed to be protecting lives and properties. It is callous, despotic, terroristic, inhuman, evil and condemnable by every sane person.
Nigeria has so degenerated to the level that even the bereaved cannot be allowed to bury and mourn their lost in peace without unwarranted and provocative security incursions sponsored by the state. This action by the Nigerian Islamic security forces has further proved that the country is a lawless society and can never ever survive. Nigeria is a place where innocent and law abiding citizens are inhumanly treated with disdain, having no recourse to the law. This is a country where the handlers keep singing delusional choruses of unity, orchestrating actions of hate and disintegration while relentlessly fanning the embers of disunity.
Just recently, the Nigerian government floated in the National Assembly, “Hate Speech Bill” through it’s terror agents, in the bid to try to criminalize just criticisms against government excesses within the Lugardian contraption. There is absolutely no doubt that everything is speedily and irredeemably falling apart. This is a government that is daily pleading for unity amidst the continued proscription of IPOB, victimization and killing of members, the murderous military invasion of the IPOB’s leader’s home on the 14th of September 2017 with attacks that left over twenty eight promising young Biafrans dead and uncountable number of others terribly injured and maimed. One would have thought that before now, a reasonable government would have initiated genuine reconciliatory moves aimed at bringing lasting solution to the issues being raised by the people. But never, in Nigeria. Biafrans are increasingly being hated, victimized and brutally murdered on successive basis.
It is therefore imperative to note that the forceful and illusionary unity being desperately peddled by the drivers of the Nigerian Islamic government led by the Northern oligarchical cabals, is a deceit. Nigeria has no democracy nor the rule of law. It is an entity where injustice, hopelessness, nepotism, terrorism, death and destruction reign supreme. Government-sponsored ethnic cleansing in favor of a particular section is now the consuming passion. Never again will this mistake of a country survive as one. It’s definitely all over!
