Anambra State, Peter Obi and docile Citizens-by Kenneth Nwankwo from Awka, Nigeria
Like the Holy Book,this website has given Biafrans trapped in this enclave called Nigeria spiritual booster,hence my resolve to visit the site everyday.The essence of governance is to maximize social welfare and give hope to the hopeless.Government major aim is to put smiles on the faces of the citizenry.Now coming to peter obi, he started his campaign in Anambra State with the slogan ‘Is Anambra State Cursed or are we the Cause’. Having ruled Anambra state for 7 years, I can categorically confirm that leaders in the class of Peter Obi is the cause.
This is a Man who has the unique opportunity of replacing Eze Igbo Gburugburu.This is a man whose only son is domciled in abroad.This is a man who has made it in the corporate and business world.This is a man who has all the resources at his disposal to better the lots of his state.This man unknown to many Nigerians have crippled the economy of the state throughout the period he acted as the Governor.Without wasting your time ,let me show you what he did as our people are brainless.This trader turned Governor ensured that LGA election was not conducted throughout his period thereby stopping democratic dividend to that level of governance .His claim that elected council are wasting is only employed to deceive people as billions of naira accrued to this account has not created a single job!
This Governor ensures that no fund leaves the state coffer without his approval, hence his commissioners are just like unproductive civil servants that act like robots meaning that he is the sole administrator of the state. When the Governor travels, all the ministries and parastatals go into break as no fund would be released. This Governor commercialized most essential the government activities in the state. Those ones not commercialized are overlooked by him. You can conduct public survey on Anambra State University checking the quality of education and school fees [note that most structures there are built by international donors]. Check General hospitals including Amaku Teaching Hospital: quality of services and turn around time. Check judiciary and legislature. The two organs of government are not financially independent from the executive, hence cannot question the governor becuase of poverty. Check Ministry of Agricuture that other states are using to create job.
This governor sat on the N1B CBN agri intervention fund for three years earning backdoor interest from his Fidelity Bank while the farmers were deliberately starved of funds.These funds were released few months ago with unrealistic condition while other states like Ogun, Ondo, Lagos are gunning for N18B for her farmers establishing farm settlements for teaming unemployed graduates.
Check Lands and Housing administration in the state. You will be disappointed to note that the Governor is not interested in this area. The action of Government in this area is rather exploitative as there is deliberate policy to take care of the poor. Government achievement of buying computers and buses to schools, handing schools over to mission, construction of roads, rebuilding some government buildings among others have not solved these two macroeconomic goals which every government in developing economics pursue: even distribution of income and poverty reduction via employment generation.
Lets conclude by asking these questions: why do Peter Obi primitively accumulate wealth he doesn’t need even when his only son in South America told him that he is contented in Peru as a teacher. Why did Peter Obi accumulate billions of naira in different banks for Anambra State in the process earning interest while millions of youths are jobless in the state? Why did Peter Obi build N19B worth of shopping mall in Abuja while industries are closing shops in the state? Why did Peter attract brewery company in the state instead of first establishing farm settlement and food processing companies.
In my personal opinion, beer company has produced more drunkards than farmers? Why did Peter Obi frustrate LGA administration in Anambra State? Why is Governor awarding billions of naira contract when he knows that his days are numbered. Why were the contracts not awarded years ago even though he had the funds in the bank over the years? Why is the Governor boasting that he has not borrowed 10k from any bank in an underdeveloped economy? My greatest worries is the docility of the middle class and ordinary Anambrarian who goes about celebrating the governor for simply building roads with public fund while nobody even ask question on the huge internal and external revenue generated by the state for 7 years.
I want to encourage other Biafrans from other state to review the actions of their state Governors as these people are our major problem not the Hausa or Yoruba people.
