Abomination in Igboland-Dumped Bodies in Anambra River those of Biafra Activists Killed by Anambra State Police Command
This is what became of Igbo sons abducted by the Nigerian Police some of whom were shot dead and their bodies dumped in Ezu River, Ugwuoba Enugu State a boundary town to Amansea, Awka North, Anambra State. Eastern Pilot Newspaper received an anonymous phone call from a man purporting to be a serving police officer attached to the dreaded Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Anambra State Police Command to confirm the dead bodies floating in the river as those of unarmed Igbo sons killed in and around Onitsha area for suspected criminal activities.
It is now confirmed that these are Massob members missing following a Police raid of their offices in Onitsha. In 2008 Peter Obi the governor of Anambra State authorised similar shoot at sight policy that led to the death of over 200 young Igbo man and women. Some of the bodies are still in the mortuary unclaimed till date and families have been denied access to them to enable families bury them properly. When the issue of Peter Obi killing Igbo young Igbo men was highlighted by Radio Biafra in 2009 he placated the leadership of Massob by donating 20 million naira to the organisation and the story of the dead activists in mortuary were quickly forgotten.
