Fani-KayodeFrom ISMAIL OMIPIDAN, KadunaFormer Aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has declared that returning President Goodluck Jonathan to power in 2015 would not be in the country’s interest. To this end, he has called on all Nigerians of like minds, irrespective of political leanings, to rise up and ensure that Jonathan does not return in 2015.

He made these known in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, last Thursday, where he had gone to confer with his host, the Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, on the options for 2015.

Although details of the closed door meeting were not made public, the Osun State-born politician told journalists, shortly before the

meeting commenced that he was in Dutse, to confer with Lamido on the way forward, as it relates to the political climate in the country, especially, with regards to the 2015 presidential election.

Insisting that he had nothing personal against Jonathan, the former image maker to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, however said that recent happenings in the country, have confirmed that President Jonathan does not have the capacity to lead Nigeria.

“The attempt by the police to disrupt the meeting of the G-7 governors shows the desperation and lack of respect for people like Lamido, who are the founding fathers of the PDP, by the Jonathan’s administration.

“So, I am here to see my brother and friend, Governor Sule Lamido. I have seen the wonderful works he has done in the state and I am proud of him. “I am also here to consult with him on the state of affairs in the country, especially the crisis in the PDP and the options for 2015.
