Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State has reiterated his commitment to Anambra North producing his successor, insisting it was necessary in order to maintain equity, fairness and justice. Governor Obi made this known while answering questions on APGA commitment that the next governor will come from Anambra North during the town hall meeting at Onitsha North Local Government headquarters on Thursday.

The police in Imo State are now investigating how a 27 year old housewife, Mrs Njideka Okorie eloped with six months pregnancy and went into hiding where she was later delivered of a baby girl which she sold to one Agatha Okoronkwo at Isieka Ihiala in Anambra State for N100,000. Saturday Sun gathered that Njideka has been married to Samuel Okorie , for over 10 years. The marriage was already blessed with four children while they were expecting the fifth child, the wife eloped with six months pregnancy from their home in Orlu, Imo State. The housewife also fled her matrimonial home with the other four children.

Nigerian Army claim they have cornered Boko Haram leader Shekau in Bornu Hills

The leader of the Boko Haram Islamic sect, Sheikh Abubakar Shekau, may have been cornered by operatives of the Joint Task Force in Gwoza hills, Borno State. A top security source told Saturday PUNCH on Thursday that the JTF had located the area where the Boko Haram leader was hiding. The source stated, “We are combing Gwoza hills where we believe Shekau is hiding.”
